Product Description
An elegant Victorian glass epergne dating from the late 19th century, designed as a decorative table centrepiece for floral or fruit displays.
The piece features a beautifully shaped ruffled cranberry glass bowl base supporting three clear glass trumpet vases, each decorated with applied prunts and gently flared rims with delicate cranberry shading. The combination of cranberry and clear glass gives the piece a refined and decorative appearance typical of Victorian art glass of the period.
The epergne retains its original brass mounts, which complement the vibrant glasswork and add to its period charm. A striking and decorative example, well suited for display in both traditional and eclectic interiors.
Condition
Presented in good antique condition overall. There appears to have been a past repair to the base of the central stem where it fits into the brass cup, resulting in a slight irregularity in alignment.
The glass itself is intact, with no visible cracks or major damage, and the piece remains stable and visually attractive. There is light surface wear and patina to the brass mounts consistent with age and use.
