Product Description
Decorative pair of Japanese Satsuma vases with crackle-glazed ivory ground, hand-painted bird and floral panels, deep blue borders, and rich gilt detailing. Each vase features ornate pierced handles and retains its original red seal mark to the base. Produced for the Western export market during the late l Meiji period, intended for the Western export market. Elegant and highly decorative, the pair is ideal for display on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or in a cabinet, with light wear and gilt rubbing consistent with age.
