Product Description
A very attractive French brass jardinière dating to the turn of the 20th century, designed in the elegant Louis XVI manner.
Of classical circular form, the body is adorned with a finely detailed garland and ribbon frieze, beneath a decorative pierced gallery rim, lending a light and refined character. The piece is fitted with twin shaped side handles and raised on three scrolling supports, giving it a well balanced and decorative silhouette.
The brass has developed a pleasing soft patina, enhancing its antique character. The interior is fitted with a removable liner for practical use, allowing the piece to be used easily for planting or floral displays.
A versatile and decorative object, ideal as a table centrepiece, planter, or cachepot, suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Condition
In good antique condition overall, with the brass body structurally sound and displaying an attractive aged patina. There is one more noticeable dent to the brass body along with two smaller dents, all consistent with age and use. The piece also shows light, even surface wear throughout.
The interior liner shows visible signs of use, including surface wear and marking, as expected, but remains entirely functional.
Overall, a clean and well presented example with honest age related wear.
